ProHealth Staffing is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN).

The Oncology Nurse cares for critically or chronically ill cancer patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The occupation requires emotional stability to help patients and their families work through the treatment process and cope with death if treatment fails. 

  • The Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) administers chemotherapy, implements new methods of symptom treatment and monitors their patients' progress.
  • Educating cancer patients about treatment options, procedures and particularities of the disease, which requires that they constantly educate themselves and keep up with new treatment methods.
  • Oncology Registered Nurses (RN) must be prepared to work with patients who have been diagnosed with life-threatening conditions.
  • Create a stable environment for patients.
  • Performs nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients.
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.
  • Carries out physician orders.
  • May train and guide other nursing and support staff engaged in clinical activities; may participate in research and related activities.


  • Minimum of one year of Oncology experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required.
  • Registered Nursing License: Current In-State license in good standing or Compact Nursing License.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, departmental team player, and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills at an individual and team level, ability to be flexible, and adjust quickly and react positively to change.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in nursing, positive attitude and good work ethics.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality. 
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
